Frances E. Willard

francesewillard, heritage 2.jpgFrances E. Willard was an inspiration to the Founders.
She was a professional, strong woman who was soon to become internationally famous. She literally mentored the early Alpha Phi sisters, and once Beta chapter was founded at Northwestern University in 1881, she became a great friend to the chapter sisters. She was a role model and helped the Alpha Phi members see how important education really could be.

The Frances E. Willard Day of Service, held during Women's History Month, has been dedicated in her honor. Click here to read more about this day.
